Simulator Certifications

Thinking of acquiring a new Flight Training Device? The regulations around Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) are complex. Strategic Air can support you from the start by conducting a comprehensive evaluation of your options, right through to developing the compliance documentation, factory acceptance testing and certification - including under CASR Part 60. We write both Synthetic Trainer Operating Manuals (STOMs) and Simulator Quality Management Systems (SQMS).

Understanding the Regulations

The regulations are complex. Our team includes people who helped draft many of the aviation and space regulations. Our CEO Dr Tony Stanton is the former Senior Manager of CASA Flight Standards Branch, we therefore have the inside knowledge on the policy, the intent and the correct interpretation of the standards. Let us help you know what the regulation actually requires.

CASR Regulatory Structure

Managing Practical Drift. Compliance Assurance Programs.

Strategic Air can establish Compliance Assurance Programs to ensure your organisation continues to operate in the region of safety and compliance.

Whether your organisation operates in the Flight Operations Regulations or the Certification / Airworthiness Regulations, we can help you with independent assurance that what you think is happening within your organisation, in fact is.

Stay safe, Stay Compliant.

In Trouble with CASA? Expert Enforcement Consulting

If you have found yourself under enforcement action with CASA, let Strategic Air work with you to achieve the best possible outcome. As a former member of the CASA Senior Executive Service, our CEO Dr Tony Stanton has been an enforcement decision maker in numerous decisions for CASA, so he understands the process well from 'the inside'.

As a former CASA enforcement delegate, Tony has attended many Administrative Review Tribunals (formerly the AAT) to defend his own CASA enforcement decisions. We understand the process and how to navigate it for the best possible outcome.

CASA Audit Preparation & Findings Management

Audit results matter. They are your reputation - they affect contracts and the value of your business.

Have you received a CASA surveillance notification letter? Let Strategic Air prepare your organisation for the best audit results. We can prepare you for the audit, attend the audit itself as your representative, and help you to manage and acquit any findings.

Practical drift and normalised deviance are real. Organisations unknowingly deviate from where they believe they are operating. We recommend annual compliance reviews to keep your organisation safe and compliant.

Space Objects and Rocket Launch Area Approvals

Our CEO, Dr Tony Stanton was appointed by the Australian Space Agency (ASA) to the Australian Government Space Co-ordination Committee (SCC).  The SCC is the national forum for coordinating the Australian Government’s activities and priorities in all civil space activities.

For over six years, Tony was the Australian Government (CASA) delegate for granting Area Approvals for the launch of all high-powered rockets and space objects within Australian Territory.  CASA Area Approvals manage the risk of an accident within Australian airspace from the launch site to 100 km above the Earth).

Strategic Air can support you with CASR Part 101 Area Approval Applications and the management of airspace for space launches.
